Il Centro Ecumenico di Agape

fin dalla sua fondazione ha messo al centro del proprio essere ed operare l’amore di Dio che si è rivelato in Gesù Cristo. L’amore apre le strade alla riconciliazione e alla pace, rende possibile il dialogo e il perdono reciproco, muove in aiuto dei bisognosi e delle sofferenti. Nell’amore cadono tutte le barriere religiose, sociali, culturali e di genere. L’amore caccia via la paura, permette di stare nei conflitti senza dover ricorrere alla forza o alla violenza, si dona con generosità.

Il Comitato Generale, insieme al Comitato Esecutivo e al Gruppo Residente di Agape,
– a fronte degli avvenimenti bellici che hanno colpito la società civile nei territori dello Stato d’Israele e della Palestina, causando morte e terrore e aprendo una spirale di violenza che chiede sangue al sangue;
– in riferimento anche al conflitto armato che impegna da più di un anno e mezzo la Russia e l’Ucraina, con il coinvolgimento indiretto di altre nazioni e coalizioni militari internazionali, provocando più di 500.000 vittime tra morti e feriti, che non offre, al momento, alcun segnale di una via d’uscita;
– non dimenticando tutte le altre guerre o conflitti sparse nel mondo e le loro pesanti conseguenze sul piano umanitario

1) esprime il proprio sconcerto di fronte alle barbarie dell’umanità e la propria solidarietà con chi più di tutti le subisce e ne paga le conseguenze;
2) riconosce con umiltà il proprio coinvolgimento diretto o indiretto con le logiche di questo mondo;
3) intende testimoniare ad alta voce l’amore/agape come unica via percorribile per il raggiungimento della pacifica convivenza tra individui e tra popoli.

Certo nell’aiuto del Signore e nella forza del suo Evangelo,
invita tutte e tutti coloro che condividono queste parole a sottoscriverle e a diffonderle per dar loro maggior capacità di farsi sentire

Since Agape Ecumenical Centre was built, it has always placed the love of God that was revealed in Jesus Christ at the centre of its being and working. Love opens roads to reconciliation and peace, makes dialogue and mutual forgiveness possible, moves towards the aid of the needy and suffering. All religious, social, cultural and gender barriers fall when love is implied. Love chases away fear, makes it possible to stand in conflicts without having to resort to force or violence, it donates generously.

The General Committee, together with the Executive Committee and the Agape Resident Group – regarding the events of war in the territories of the State of Israel and Palestine, causing death and terror and opening a spiral of violence that calls for blood to blood; – with reference also to the armed conflict that has engaged Russia and Ukraine for over a year and a half, with the indirect involvement of other nations and international military coalitions, causing more than 500,000 deaths and injuries, which offers, at the moment, no sign of a way out; – not forgetting all the other wars or conflicts around the world and their heavy consequences on a humanitarian level

1) expresses its dismay at the barbarities of humanity and its solidarity with those who most of all suffer them and pay the consequences;
2) acknowledges with humility its own direct or indirect involvement with the logic of this world;
3) intends to testify loudly the love/agape as the only way forward for achieving peaceful coexistence between individuals and between peoples.

Certain in the help of the Lord and the power of his Gospel, invites all those who share these words to subscribe to them and spread them to give them greater capacity to be heard.
